Reclaimed materials shape a contemporary family home.
Designed around the property’s existing swimming pool, the new residence establishes a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. Modifications to the pool improved its visual relationship with the home, while open-plan living areas, generous glazing and carefully considered ventilation maximise natural light and create a seamless flow to the outdoor entertaining areas.
The home is defined by a raw, tactile material palette incorporating steel, timber, concrete and bricks salvaged from the original residence. Their careful integration brings warmth and character to the contemporary industrial design.
EBG carefully coordinated the construction process within the requirements of the Complying Development Certificate, managing site activities, regulatory compliance and the integration of architectural and interior finishes. Every area was thoughtfully resolved to maximise usable space, incorporate practical storage and support the family’s evolving needs.
The result is a distinctive and highly considered family residence that balances robust materials with natural light, openness and warmth - creating a comfortable home designed equally for everyday living and entertaining.
