Improving public access through considered park infrastructure.
Completed for Woollahra Municipal Council in December 2023, the Bellevue Park Stage 3 works upgraded pedestrian access throughout the park and enhanced its established lookout point.
EBG supplied and installed more than 500 m² of new concrete footpaths in accordance with DDA accessibility requirements. The existing brick retaining wall at the park entrance was modified to create a consistent height and wider entry, while the uneven driveway layback was replaced with new trafficable concrete pavement.
The lookout was extended to provide additional surface area, with new bench seating installed to maximise access to the park’s views. Further works included extending the existing mass-concrete stairs, installing a new handrail and adding sandstone edging.
Soft landscaping and turfing carefully integrated the new infrastructure into the established park setting. The result is a safer, more accessible and durable public space that improves movement through Bellevue Park while creating a more generous and welcoming viewing area.
