Existing character, extended for a new era of family life.
EBG delivered the transformation of an existing residence into a contemporary family home designed for entertaining, connection and creating lasting memories. The project required the original house to be carefully integrated with a new extension while maintaining a clear architectural distinction between the retained and newly constructed elements.
Working within a tight residential block, the new layout opens the home to create generous, light-filled living spaces suited to the family’s lifestyle. Careful planning maximised natural light throughout the residence while ensuring the extension did not adversely affect sunlight to the neighbouring property.
Existing materials were repurposed wherever possible, strengthening the connection between old and new while reducing unnecessary waste. Contemporary finishes and bespoke detailing were introduced to give the home a refined identity without losing the character of the original residence.
EBG managed the construction process, constrained site conditions and Council requirements while coordinating the seamless integration of the new works. The result is an open, practical and highly personal family home that transforms a challenging site into a welcoming environment for everyday living and entertaining.
