Marine construction delivered within a sensitive waterfront setting.
Funded by Woollahra Municipal Council, the Lyne Park Seawall project involved the complete demolition and reconstruction of the existing seawall along the Rose Bay waterfront. The works were delivered across five carefully planned stages over three years.
The prominent waterfront restaurant Catalina was located directly adjacent to the works and remained a key consideration throughout delivery. EBG coordinated construction activities around the restaurant’s operations, carefully managing access, deliveries, noise and work zones to minimise disruption to staff, patrons and daily service.
The new seawall was constructed using 300 × 300 × 800 mm sandstone blocks, secured to a mass-concrete backing slab with stainless-steel ties. Basalt rock armour was also installed to protect the waterfront edge from ongoing wave and tidal forces. A temporary cofferdam and sheet-piling system isolated the work area, controlled water ingress and created safe construction conditions.
EBG also delivered new concrete pathways and surrounding landscaping, resulting in a durable marine structure that renews the public waterfront while protecting the amenity of its high-profile neighbour.
