Transforming connection through glass, light and ingenuity.
EBG delivered the considered transformation of an existing architecturally designed dual-occupancy residence, improving the connection between its principal living area and a secondary living space at the rear. The works required a carefully resolved solution that would unite the two structures without compromising natural light, openness or the character of the original home.
Central to the project was the construction of a bespoke glass link surrounding an internal courtyard. Custom retractable glazing allows the courtyard to be opened when desired, creating a flexible transition between the living spaces while retaining the sense of separation and abundant daylight.
The kitchen was reconfigured to connect naturally with the courtyard and support the home’s new spatial arrangement. Further works included the detailed refurbishment of the bathrooms and ensuite, together with the renewal of the subterranean theatre space, with close attention given to interior detailing, material junctions and finishes.
EBG worked collaboratively with the design-focused clients while managing the construction, site requirements and Council compliance. The result is a refined and highly functional residence where precise execution, simplicity and ingenuity have created stronger connections throughout the home.
